Today was the first time driving my new AP1 on familiar backroads. The car’s definitely living up to its reputation. For me particularly, aside from the obvious differences to my Jetta, it felt like I saw corners and lines revealing themselves in new ways. Part of this may have been due to the better headlamps of the S2000, some the lower seating position.
Roadster lyfe: I started the drive with the top down, at about 58°F. It’s an amazing feeling driving just before dawn with the stars over your head, the sky slowly illuminating as the Earth moves through twilight and the Sun comes back to deliver its light. Midway through I was starting to shiver; the temperature had dropped 15 degrees or so. I reluctantly put the top back up.
The video begins with the “spooky road” we talked about at the Hawk’s Nest meet, followed by a very nice short stretch, a deer crossing, and my usual ramps. The last time I was on those ramps in the wet, I spun my Jetta, so I was very cautious in my first AP1 outing.

Nice! Car sounds great. How did you make that graphic at the top?
